The Nanchang Star Ferris wheel was designed and built in 2006. It had broken the world record to become the tallest Ferris wheel (160m), surpassing the previous world record holder, the London Eye. Now it still keeps the third tallest wheel record in the world. By optimized the design of structure, Nanchang Star not only meet the demand of wind-resistant and anti-seismic, but also kept the total project cost at only one-sixth of the London Eye.

Nanchang has been selected by the American Newsweek as one of the ten most dynamic cities in the world, just after the completion of the Nanchang Star in 2006. In this article, the Nanchang Star was highlighted to reflect the city’s prospering and fast-growing status. Besides, as the pioneer of the construction of Honggutan new district, the Nanchang Star boosted its development and substantially improved the surrounding property values.
